Cookie Walk Raises Money for Local Charities

First United Methodist Church in Galax hosted their annual "Cookie Walk" event last Saturday raising money for area mission projects. They raised 1/3 more than they did the previous year bringing their 2025 total to more than $1,200. All proceeds go to local charity.

The event is organized by United Methodist Women representing women from area churches. Around 20 women baked a variety of cookies in the days leading up to the occasion. The Cookie Walk began in 2017 and, after a brief pause during covid, the popular fundraiser has been welcomed back for two years in a row.

The Neighborly was live on the scene on Saturday and created a little something fun to help ring in the Christmas season. If you are on our email list, the newsletter didn't include the video. But our website version of this article offers an interview with 1st UMC's Pastor Todd and Cookie Walk team member, Dianne Marshall!
