After School Art Club - 4 - 5:30PM. Chestnut Creek School of the Arts. $25. Ages 8-14. Bring your imaginations! Students will explore many art techniques and materials. We will create projects in drawing, painting, collage, printmaking, and mixed media. The sky's the limit! Sessions can be repeated and are designed as individual classes. Wood Turning Studio - 3 Sessions offered at $15/each. Ages 16+. Chestnut Creek School of the Arts at the Woodworking Studio, 107 W Oldtown Street, Galax. Practice building the skills you have learned in the Beginning Wood Turning class in this supervised open studio. Our on staff professional will be there to guide you. This is not a teaching studio. Encaustics Part 2 - Hot Wax - 3 - 6PM Chestnut Creek School of the Arts, 100 N Main Street, Galax. Ages 12+. $48. In this next level class, previous encaustic students will learn how to use a transfer iron, wax writer, and other hot wax techniques that will build on their existing skills. Printmaking - Noon - 3:30PM Chestnut Creek School of the Arts, 100 N Main Street, Galax. Ages 12+ $48. Printmaking with Gelli plates is a fun, spontaneous process with endless possibilities. Through color layering, stencils, frottage, textures, and painterly imagery, Gelli plates will surprise you with unexpected colorful results. Wood Turning Workshop - 9AM - 4:30PM. Chestnut Creek School for the Arts, Woodworking Studio at 107 W Oldtown Street, Galax. Ages 16+ $119. In this beginning class, students can expect to learn safety, tools, equipment, and beginner skills in wood turning. This is an excellent class for beginners and novices alike.
