New Music Venue Opens in Damascus
Join The Cardinal Music Hall for their inaugural year and their 2026 season "The Stained Glass Sessions".
The Cardinal Music Hall has partnered with a regional non-profit to bring new life to a former Presbyterian Church in downtown Damascus. The building is owned by Southwest Virginia's Hands and Feet Ministry, a program that provides resources for people experiencing incarceration and for mothers recovering from substance use disorder. The old church serves area recovery communities. Now it's expanding to provide space for lectures, meetings, and... music.
Enter Cardinal Music! The new venue will enjoy their first year in The Sanctuary at the former Presbyterian Church at 124 West Laurel Avenue in Damascus. "The Stained Glass Sessions" will feature a range of music from indie-folk & rock to Appalachian Americana & country.
Here's what Cardinal Music founders say:
The Cardinal Music Hall was created by Scott Little and Ben Earp, two friends who share a deep love of music and the way it brings people together. Both have spent years enjoying live music in their own lives and seeing how powerful it can be for artists, audiences, and communities.
The Cardinal Music Hall exists to celebrate live music and to share the joy it brings with everyone who walks through the door.
The idea for The Cardinal Music Hall came from a shared desire to bring that same feeling to Damascus. Scott and Ben wanted to help create a place where live music could be experienced up close, where artists feel welcomed, and where people can gather around something they love.
At its core, The Cardinal Music Hall is about community. It is a space built to support musicians, give audiences memorable nights, and add something meaningful to the cultural life of Damascus. Every show is an opportunity to connect through music and to create moments that people carry with them long after the night is over.
"The Stained Glass Sessions" open their doors for their first concert on March 12, 2026. Doors open at 7PM for an evening of music and story-telling. Tyler Nail will take the stage at 7:30PM.
"Tyler Nail is a Southern songwriter and Appalachian Americana artist known for raw storytelling, restless performances, and intricate Piedmont-style guitar work. His songs feel timeless and familiar, blending folklore-like depth with deeply personal emotion."
Tickets for Tyler Nail's show on March 12 are $20 and can be purchased through Cardinal Music Hall's website link below.
