Fries Joins National "Kids in Parks" Program

Dedication ceremony to be held Saturday, November 22 at 11AM in Fries

"Kids in Parks" is a national program that inspires youth to unplug and get outdoors. Fries will join this national trail network with their own Kids in Parks adventure. A new trailhead for a 1.4-mile Kids in Parks TRACK TRAIL program along the New River will celebrate their dedication event this Saturday.

"Kids in Parks" describes their mission as "...a national network of trails that engage kids and families in activities that get them outdoors and connected to nature. Each of the program’s TRACK Trails provide visitors with engaging, self-guided activities designed to turn their visit into a fun and exciting adventure."

Trail activities called Tracktivities encourage kids to engage with nature and fitness as they explore the wilderness. Tracktivities are available in brochures provided at trailhead kiosks or can be downloaded onto a cell phone.

Dedication for the Kids Trailhead will begin at 11AM at near the address 323 Firehouse Drive in Fries.
