SINGER/SONGWRITER GATHERING - Creek Bottom Brewing will hold a singer/songwriter event sponsored by SERFA (Southeast Region Folk Alliance) on Wed, Feb 18 from 6:30 – 9 pm. Johnny Williams will host the event. It is open to the public. Pizza buffet, tea and soft drinks are provided. Anyone wanting to perform contact Johnny Williams at grasstank@mindspring.com. Ages 15+ Students will be provided basic knowledge to help them be successful in learning and advancing their watercolor painting skills. Class will include skills exercises, resulting in reference material. Students will then pain a simple landscape using these skills.  Class will include take home reference material.  $43. Intro to Metal Sculpture - Noon - 5PM. Chestnut Creek School for the Arts. 100 N. Main Street, Galax. Ages - adult. Learn the basics of metal fabrication- using 2' square piece of 20 gauge sheet metal.  Learn how to cut using a plasma cutter, how to shape and texture metal using grinders, hammers and files, and weld a hanger on the back. No experience necessary.  Foster your own creativity in producing metal art.  Both sheet and scrap metal will be used to make a variety of objects.
