Community Kitchen - 4PM-6PM God's Storehouse, 406 W. Oldtown Street, Galax. "Every Monday and Tuesday evening from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., we warmly invite those in need to join us for a hot meal. We understand how difficult times can be, and our goal is to provide support and comfort to our community members who are hungry."

Grayson County Board of Supervisors Hold Special Meeting - 9AM, 129 Davis Street, Room 206 in Independence to announce all names being proposed for the vacant At-Large Interim appointment. All applications must be received no later than Tues., Dec. 2 at 5pm. All applications will be made available to the public for review. Creek Bottom Brewing Company - Billy Steele takes the stage at 7PM delivering original Americana and covers of country-folk music.

Saturday, December 6

Modern twist of The Christmas Carol - 1PM-2PM, The Rex Theater in Galax. The Christmas Carol is brought to life... on the set of a radio station. This adaptation of the Christmas classic comes to life with local actors telling the story in a record-breaking 60 minutes.

Nature's Little Elf Workshop (ages 3-15) - 1PM-4PM Blue Ridge Discovery Center, 6402 Whitetop Road, Troutdale. $10/child includes cocoa and craft supplies. "It’s crafts and cocoa galore at our Nature’s Little Elf Workshop! After picking an elf name, children will have the opportunity to get hands-on with a variety of seasonal crafts. Elf costumes welcome! Activities will take place both indoors and out, so please dress warmly."

Dream Chasers Christmas Party for Teen Girls - 6PM-8PM at God's Storehouse. "Teen girls join us for our Dream Chasers Christmas Party. We will have a charcuterie and gnome party! Bring your own board – or come early and make one with us! Then stay to create your own adorable gnome. It’s going to be a fun, cozy night!"

Winter Farmer's Market - 11AM-2PM Independence Town Park in Independence

Free Christmas Gift Shop - 11AM-3PM "Take home gifts for up to three people and everything's Free!" - GATE Center in Independence. Beginning at 11 AM, kids ages 5-14 ONLY will be allowed to choose gifts for three family members, escorted by helpful ‘elves’. From 1 PM to 3 PM, everyone is welcome inside the Christmas Gift Shop to choose gifts for free

Making Grayson Glow Market - 4 PM to 7 PM, Making Grayson Glow will host their annual Christmas Market at the Historic 1908 Courthouse, with local craft vendors, food, and holiday music.

Town of Independence Christmas Parade at 6 PM
